Q. WhAT DOES “GIRL FRIDAY” MEAN?

A.  “Girl Friday” is a term coined in a 1940’s movie starring Cary Grant and Rosalind Russel. Here’s the definition, as we see it:

  1. a go-to girl

  2. a Jill-of-all-trades capable of doing almost anything

  3. a Minneapolis based company creating killer art installations

Q. What is Girl Friday’s Price point?

A.  Our minimum for custom work is $2,000 — with most clients spending between $4,000-10,000.

Our pricing is based upon:

  • Materials

  • Labor

  • Special equipment (Is your ceiling so high that we need to bring in a lift? How many trucks will we need to deliver?)


Q. WHAT DO YOU DO?

A. Simply said: We design, make and install art installations, photo ops, window and store displays.


Q. WHAT DOn’t you do?

A. Anything off the shelf — we’re all about artist-made décor! We don’t do any of the following, but we’re happy to share our favorites who do!

  • Draping

  • Lighting

  • Floral

  • Furniture rental

  • Event planning

  • Full event design


Q. Do you have a showroom?

A.  No, most of our space is dedicated to our workshop and offices. However, we’re happy for you to come by to see us by appointment.

 

Q. Does Girl Friday Travel?

A. We love to travel and have experience working from coast to coast. We’re happy to work off provided information or come out for a site visit. Just as we would in our own town, we’ll handle everything from design to installation.

Our travel minimum is $15,000.


Girl Friday To-Go!


Q. What’s the difference between Girl Friday and Girl Friday to-Go?

A.  Girl Friday is completely custom —bespoke, if you will. We design, fabricate and install with your goals in mind. Girl Friday To-Go is handmade rental décor for pick-up. These are items we’ve created that are reusable and can be offered at a lower price point from our custom work.

Or, to put it in terms of fashion: Girl Friday is “Couture” and Girl Friday To-Go is “Ready-to-Wear.”

 

Q. DO you offer delivery?

Yes! We offer delivery on orders of $500+ on weekdays and $1000+ on weekends. Delivery rates are calculated based on location. Please contact us for a quote.

Q. why do some items need to be delivered?

A.  While Girl Friday To-Go is intended to be items you can come pick-up and install, we’ve added a few items that are fragile in transit or require some extra attention when installing to make them look their very best (think: touching up paint should something be scuffed in transit or shimmed to sit straight on an uneven floor).


BALLOONS


Q. What kind of balloons do you use?

A.  We use high-quality latex balloons: Qualatex, Tuf-tex and Betallatex. Our air-filled balloons are made from natural, renewable resources and are biodegradable. According to a 2020 study by the Balloon Council, our latex balloons breakdown at the same rate as maple leaves.

Q. HOW LONG do the balloons last?

A.  Balloons last 3-4 weeks indoors and 1-5 days outside.

Q. I see you offer pick-up during the week, but my party is on the weekend. Will my balloons still look good?

A.  Yes! Air-filled balloons look great for weeks when kept indoors. If you're planning to have them outside, we recommend keeping them indoors until the day of your party.

Q. How many balloon garlands can I fit in my car?

A.  6ft and 8ft garlands fit in small to mid-size SUVs (without cargo and the ability to move up your passenger seat)
10ft, 12ft or two 6ft garlands fit in mini vans and suburbans (without cargo and the ability to move up your passenger seat)
